Greater Boston Food Bank is on board with bread + butter

We are thrilled to announce the second nonprofit partner to officially sign on to the New England-wide expansion of the bread and butter project – The Greater Boston Food Bank, serving nearly 600 member hunger-relief agencies throughout eastern Massachusetts. We wanted to start our project by trying to make a difference very close to home, and we had a great response to our partnership with Pettengill House, Inc. in Salisbury, MA. As we looked to expand, it made great sense to work with the food bank in the region where I grew up and the area where Sue and I chose to raise our kids. We’re on a mission to work together as a family to help hungry people, develop a sustainable business model and find out what it takes to make a real difference. While we hope to one day make a real difference on a national scale, we think our best bet is to start locally, expand regionally, and then see what happens from there. Accordingly, our partnership with Greater Boston Food Bank is a natural and logical next step in that direction. And, because of our relationships and networks in the Greater Boston area, we believe we have the opportunity to make a really big impact here. It's where we both live and work, and also where there is a big need. We hope you’ll help us, and we ask you to keep coming back to the blog for more details about our partnership with this great agency and more news about our New England-wide expansion effort. In the meantime, check out the Greater Boston Food Bank’s website for information about the important work they're doing, upcoming events, and opportunities to support them. Thanks, and keep spreading the word.
