A Thanksgiving Salute to our Partners

Today, in addition to being thankful for our health, our family, our jobs, and good friends, the bread + butter project team is giving thanks for the work of our partners: Connecticut Food Bank, Good Shepherd Food-Bank, Greater Boston Food Bank, New Hampshire Food Bank, Rhode Island Community Food Bank, and Vermont Foodbank. Each of these important organizations is doing its part to help hungry people throughout New England - not just on Thanksgiving, but every day of the year. While turkey drives generate lots of press coverage around the holidays, the need to support food pantries and food banks is year-round. In fact, the need for donations is greater following the holidays, and in the summer months. And, as generous grocery stores, which provide the largest amount of food donations to food banks, become more efficient with their inventory systems, the amount of food available for donation shrinks. Accordingly, the need to support food banks with cash donations becomes more important. You can find the latest report on hunger in America at FeedingAmerica.org.

As you sit down to enjoy your Thansgiving meal, we hope you will consider supporting our partners with a financial contribution this year. And remember, the bread + butter project is sharing 50% of our profits from November 2009 - March 2010 with these great organizations. Our products make great gifts and help raise awareness about hunger in our community and across the country. And we're offering our customers two ways to save during the long holiday weekend. Take 25% off all orders of $40 or more when you enter coupon code CYBER39 November 27 - 30. And, get free shipping on all orders of $50 or more when you enter coupon code FREESHIP1.

Happy Thanksgiving!
